During the middle part of June 2007 we carried out the piling work at two new office developments at Golbourne and Darwen for Charles Topham Projects.

The piling at Golbourne consisted of the installation of 316no. 220mm x 220mm precast concrete piles to depths of up to 12 metres. The piling work took 14 days to complete and was therefore within our original estimated timescale. The images below show us installing the driven piles at Golbourne.

At the same time as carrying out the piling work at Golbourne we also drove 172no. 140mm thick wall steel piles at an office development at Lower Darwen, Lancashire. These piles were installed to depths of up to 5 metres in a time of 5 days, again well inside the anticipated 10 days on our programme.

Much of the time saved on these contracts can be put down to our new Banut 400 rig.
